Pip Waller MAMH (Member of the Association of Master Herbalists), Medical Herbalist and Plant Spirit Medicine Healer
Author of The Domestic Alchemist
I have been a domestic alchemist since the age of six when I made potions from daisies and red campion. I grew up in Devon playing in the woods, and that is when the plants first made me their own.
Later I came to study herbal medicine after my parents were both helped by a medical herbalist. I qualified in 1989 and have been in practice ever since.
I have dabbled in gardening, but at the moment am between gardens, and actually my biggest love is walking in nature and I prefer to gather plants this way than grow them – although I am involved with a lovely community organic garden project where I volunteer now and then and every year teach a few ‘magic of herbs’ days gathering and cooking up some useful potions.
I was on BBC2’s Countryfile making a few potions as part of a program that included something about herbal medicine in Wales, and through that I got in touch with great publishers Leaping Hare Press. Leaping Hare a book make lovely books – really beautifully designed. Together we evolved the idea for The Domestic Alchemist.
